The development is a franchise in partnership with BeeHive Homes headquartered in Meridan\, Idaho\, which was established in 1987 and currently operates over 140 homes in 20 states. BeeHive's innovative format was developed around the concept that the elderly deserve a clean\, comfortable family setting at an affordable price when they reach that point in life when assistance is needed with daily activities such as dressing\, bathing\, eating\, and the proper administration of medications. With a focus on smaller facilities designed to resemble residential homes\, BeeHive Homes are designed to make the move to assisted living seamless and comfortable for its residents. When completed\, BeeHive Homes of Crownridge will consist of three buildings on a 3.5 acre property in Crownridge in Northwest San Antonio. Each building will be single story\, approximately 8700 square feet\, and consist of 16 private bedrooms each with its own bath along with a common living room\, dining room\, kitchen\, activity room\, and salon. Daily preparation and serving of home-cooked meals\, laundry and cleaning services will be provided. Activities will include social activities (e.g.\, games\, celebrations\, music\, movies\, special visits by local community organizations)\, physical and mental exercises (e.g. walking\, arts & crafts\, field trips)\, professional personal services\, and outdoor living space for relaxation and enjoying nature in a beautiful and tranquil setting. Construction of the first home will begin in February and is scheduled to open summer 2019. The groundbreaking ceremony is open to the public.
