DESCRIPTION:Give Cancer the Boot\, a 2.6-mile fun run/walk\, will be held Saturday\, March 24\, at the Mays Cancer Center\, the newly named center at UT Health San Antonio MD Anderson Cancer Center.\n\nThe event will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Mays Cancer Center\, 7979 Wurzbach Road. The race begins at 9 a.m. and parking is free.\n\nGive Cancer the Boot is open to all cancer survivors\, family members\, friends and the community. Cancer survivors will be treated to free entry\, a free gift\, and a complimentary massage and make-over following the race. Children's activities include face painting\, games\, bubble blowing\, a fruit walk\, bean bag toss and more.\n\n\n\nLocal cancer survivors will have the opportunity to tell their stories\, and families will be invited to sign a "survivor board" to share who they are honoring with their participation. A food truck and community organizations with free health information will be available. \n\nWell-behaved dogs on a leash are welcome. Proceeds will support the Mays Cancer Center's Patient and Family Fund.
