RCSA's Davidson and Najim 24/7 emergency residential homes are the only licensed emergency residences in Texas dedicated to caring for children with developmental disabilities and complex medical conditions who are in protective custody due to child abuse. In these 24/7 emergency homes\, RCSA's caregivers teach essential life skills and create a nurturing environment that helps children heal from the trauma of abuse.\n\n \n\nIn 2006\, RCSA became a licensed foster care placement agency to address the increased risk of child abuse for children with special needs who are up to four times more likely to be victims of abuse. RCSA successfully transitions children with special needs and medical conditions from temporary custody to a stable\, home-like environment through placement with one of RCSA's foster families. Respite Care provides housing assistance\, training\, and support for prospective foster parents so that they are better prepared to help children with special needs overcome the consequences of abuse and neglect.\n\n \n\nRCSA continues to be a safety net in the San Antonio community for families dealing with the stress of caring for a child with special needs and complex medical conditions.
