Topic:  Boundaries of IT

The IT department is involved in many aspects of a company and many times is a critical partner in the success of a given department.  Along with that partner role comes the risk of being stretched beyond our capabilities or being blamed for failures beyond our control.  Identifying and ensuring boundaries are adhered to and respected can be a challenge at times.  The panel will discuss how IT can define its boundaries within the company so it is involved and consulted appropriately while being placed in charge of initiatives/projects where they make sense.  These boundaries also serve the role of reducing the risk of IT becoming the scapegoat for floundering initiatives.
